Therefore, the Skyway Governance Committee held a meeting and voted to ask the City to return to the 7:00 p.m. closing hours rather than extending those hours to 10:00 p.m. Keeping the closing hours at 7:00 pm. Based on the easing of COVID restrictions statewide, the fact that the spread of COVID-19 has slowed, and the wide availability of vaccines it is now time to consider easing back to regular skyway hours. Studies have indicated and public health experts have concluded that indoor dining is a significant driver of the COVID-19 pandemic, in part because it is not possible to wear a mask while eating or drinking.
